Hi everyone! Greetings from sunny California! We are settling in and having a wonderful time here at one of my favorite places on earth…..home. I feel so lucky that I can still go home to the very house I grew up in. It is such a fabulous feeling of comfort to return and have things be the same as always.
Look at this peaceful setting. I have been spending quite a bit of time just kicking back on the chaise lounge soaking in this view. I’ve been hanging out with some of the locals, too.
My old college mascot, the banana slug. It wouldn’t be home without a few of these guys around. 
Besides just hanging out, it’s been game time here at the ol’ homestead. Dominoes and the new favorite, poker. I have never played poker before and must admit to being a bit slow at picking up the game, but I will say that I was the big winner last night.
Go me!
And for some scrappy news, I do have a card to share today that features the latest digital stamp from Digital Doodles called Beach Parasol. This adorable image lends itself to so many uses including baby or wedding showers, under the weather get well greetings, or summery beach theme projects like mine.
Isn’t that umbrella adorable? And so easy to use! I simply printed the image as-is onto cream cardstock, cut it out, and added color and pattern with a bit of simple paper piecing.
I created my card with October Afternoon Fly a Kit patterned papers and a die-cut journaling card. Love this bright and summery collection. All I added was a computer printed sentiment banner and a couple of antique buttons from my stash.
