It has been awhile since I’ve had to chance to work with a kit, and I had forgotten how fun they are. They allow you to play with new and different products that might be a bit outside your normal zone and they put together papers you might not have thought to combine. And that makes me feel like expanding myself a little bit, like with my coffee-themed card from Monday. And now, another rarity from me, an actual scrapbook layout.
But all the happy prints and colors from the kit patterned papers seemed the perfect fit for this fun photo I’ve had sitting on my desk forever of my sweet scrapping girlfriends. This is some of my old scrappy gang at one of our monthly Archiver’s crops. I’ve been waiting for just the right fun papers to match this group of fun friends, and I finally found them.
I noticed that most of us were wearing blue and green in the photo, so I pulled out the blue papers to start with to create my layers, adding in pops of accent color throughout. I added a couple of journaling cards as photo mats and used the transparency slide frames as fun accents. Therm O Web’s SuperTape™ is a fabulous way to adhere transparencies without the adhesive showing through.
The exclusive Cocoa Daisy kit stamps were a fun way to create a unique border across the top and bottom of my page. Thin strips of patterned papers help ground the stamped designs. A flair button, label stickers, and those adorable polka dottie alpha stickers finish things off.
I hope you’ve had a chance to stop by the Therm O Web blog this week to see lots more fabulous Cocoa Daisy projects from the rest of the team. There’s also an awesome prize package up for grabs including a variety of adhesives and a September Cocoa Daisy kit. Good luck, my friends!
