Hi everybody! I’m in a bit of a daze today. In just a short time, I am due to head to the high school to attend my son’s open house for next year. I still can’t believe I have a child about to go to high school. Where on earth does the time go? How can he honestly be this old already? My head is about to be filled with course selection for the next four years and information on our mandatory high school project, and I am NOT ready! NOT ready, I tell ya!
And as there are still a few things I need to do before I leave, I will keep this short. But, I do want to post my page for the Random Chaos challenge blog before I go. I hope you all will get a chance to play along with us. This week’s challenge is a color combo challenge to use green, orange and yellow together on a layout. Here is my page.

This page is about my sweet daughter, Nik, and what a joy she is to me. She is my everyday sweetheart. My happy, smiling girl, every day. I am so very lucky to have her in my life. This picture of her stops my breath a little bit. She’s looking so grown up. I asked her to pose for a picture, and she turned with this giant smile of hers and a wave of her hand. When she was very little, around 2 years old, she would always wave at the camera when I took her picture. And seeing the wave again, now, was like stopping up time in a bottle for just one brief moment.
Since the colors in my photo did not match the challenge colors, I decided to covert it to black and white. Think that works really well with the bold colors I went with in my color palette. The citrus colors in this are strong enough to make your lips pucker, but I like the punch it gives. I used a combination of We Are Memory Keepers White Out collection, Basic Grey Offbeat, and some MAMBI tablet papers I’ve had forever and a day. I added a butterfly and flower cut from some Webster’s Pages papers to tone down the page. Some ribbon and trim, gems, and a chipboard flower finish off the details. Alphabet is Basic Grey Offbeat chipboard.
I also dearly want to thank all of you who have left words of support and encouragement to Nik since we found out about her gerbil’s tumor yesterday. It really put a smile on her face today when I told her how many cyber hugs she has gotten. You all are the best!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
