What a crazy week it has been! I’ve been trying to get back on schedule since being at CHA, and of course there’s been a million things going on this week. I spent the first two days after returning sorting and tagging all my children’s outgrown clothing and toys for a huge children’s re-sale that goes on here twice a year. That is an absolutely gigantic endeavor, but very worthwhile, as it forces me to clean house a bit and usually nets a bit of cash as well. I also had to find a formal dress for a Bar Mitzvah that I attended last night for twin neighborhood boys. Haven’t worn a formal dress in years………absolutely years. I missed the ceremony yesterday morning, as Nik had a sleepover the night before that I needed to pick her up from, but the party last night was super fun. Good food and lots of dancing. I tell you what….those folks really know how to throw a good party.
So with all my scampering around this week, I haven’t had a chance to post my card for last week’s Sketch This blog. Here it is. Sketch #59.
Made this card using mostly items from the July Paper-Playground kit. This kit features patterned papers, journaling cards and 4×4 mini patterned papers from Jenni Bowlin’s Trendy line. Also in the kit are the Doodlebug paper Frills and the Patsy Aiken buttons used here. I added Stickles from the kit to the center of each Doodlebug Frill flower for a touch of shine. I added the blue ribbon and the Imaginisce rub-on greeting from my stash.
This card is for my girlfriend who has a July birthday. I love that these papers have patriotic colors with non-traditional patterns. You can easily use this kit for all your 4th of July photos, but it also lends itself to many other designs as well. Go check out the Paper-Playground gallery to see more fabulous samples using this kit. We have more beautiful ideas from our July guest designer, Janelle Richmond, as well as a new contributor and all our “regulars” as well. Lots of great stuff there!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
