well guys, there is no official challenge this week at Random Chaos. That is because we are taking the week off to welcome 6 new designers to the Random Chaos challenge blog! I am very excited to announce the new members of the design team.
Juliana Michaels
Renee Lamb
Norma Kennedy
Amy Tara Koeppel
Carrie Ferrier
Danni Reid
Welcome ladies! I am so excited that this group of talented folks will be joining the rest of the team in our weekly challenges. I am familiar with the work of these ladies and I can tell you this… I know this team is going to ROCK!!
But in the mean time, those of us already on the DT felt like we would go through too much withdrawal without a good challenge this week. So, we all put our heads together and came up with our own friendly Random Chaos challenge. Each of us added one “criteria” to be met on our pages. That ended up being quite a long list, but SO much fun. Here is what each of us added to the challenge.
Ashley- scallops
Lia- a title with 4 or more words
Brandi- brads
Rachel- use the color green
Molly- embossing
Allison- stamping
Jenn- use handwritten journaling
Me- use 2 different ribbons/trims
Here is what I came up with.
I cannot believe how fun this ended up being! Although I didn’t find it difficult, I still had to concentrate to make sure I didn’t overlook any part of this challenge. I had to make myself a check list and mark them off as I went along! I am so glad that Allison and Molly included stamping and embossing. I started out as a stamper, and as you can imagine, I own an awful lot of stamps. But even so, I hardly seem to pull them out anymore. This challenge was just the push I needed, and I actually did a lot of stamping on this page. First, I used small alphabet stamps by Hero Arts to stamp part of my title and the subtitle. For the rest of the title, I lightly inked some chipboard letters by Basic Grey and then stamped them with some flourish stamps from Technique Tuesday. I embossed those letters with ultra-thick embossing enamel, which you can see fairly well in the detail photo. Lastly, I used a circular “best of times” stamp from Danelle Johnson for embellishment. The papers and scalloped stickers are from My Mind’s Eye. Brads are from both Lasting Impressions and American Crafts. My two different ribbons are from Making Memories and Fancy Pants. I also used a die-cut from Melissa Francis and clear accent stickers and felt flowers from American Crafts. Last item is a border rub-on from Cosmo Cricket.
Wonderful challenge, team! Thanks for the fun! Hope you all will play along!
Have a great day!
