Even though we are only one day away from the release of our July kit from Paper Playground, I still am not ready to stop working with the beautiful papers from June’s kit and move on. I really love the soft, vintage look to these Melissa Frances papers, and I have been so pleased with their versatility as well. I have scrapped older photos using this kit, and I have also scrapped my current photos. I love it when a paper line can be used in so many different ways.
I already posted one of these photos on my blog last week, but here are some more pictures of Nik presenting her big County Fair school project. This project was by far the biggest project of the year. Each child in the 4th grade was assigned one of the one-hundred counties in North Carolina to research and write a report on. We spent a lot of time on it together, and I think she was very proud of the way it turned out. When I looked at the blue lettering on her presentation board and the crisp white of her Indian costume, I decided that the June kit would be just the ticket to scrap these memories with. One of the patterned papers even had a scalloped design that had fringed edges, reminiscent of the fringe on her costume. How perfect is that? And the white daisy-chain trim from the kit was an excellent match, too.
Hard to believe that July is almost upon us. Time just seems to move so quickly. We are very excited to have this week off of school. We only get this one week break, and will be returning to school next Monday to start a whole new year. It is a bit mind bending to finish one school year on Friday and start the next year only one week later. I guess I’ll be spending at least part of this week searching for school supplies. Not always easy to find when it’s only the first of July! The kiddos, however, are off today for Disney with their dad. They were SO excited when I dropped them off a couple of hours ago. I am so excited for them, too…..but I have to admit I’m a bit relieved that I don’t have to stand in those long lines in this terrible heat.
I’m a wimp!
Have a great day everyone!
