Well, we are back from the beach, and I am sunburned to prove it. I don’t think I’ve had such a bad sunburn for years……..and I really, really tried to be careful, too. Used a brand new tube of 50 SPF, put it on ahead of time, re-applied, wore a T-shirt….but still, I am burned to a crisp across my chest, shoulders, neck and face. Sigh. Luckily, the kids came out of it in pretty good shape. Don’t know what the difference was for me.
Had a little surprise waiting for me in my mailbox when we returned last night. My copy of Layout Blueprints 2 has finally, finally arrived. After all the delays in publishing, I was really wondering if I would ever see this in print. But here it is, and how fun it was to flip through and find my spreads that I can now share. If you are not familiar with this publication, you may seriously want to check it out. This book has over 50 different sketches for single and double scrapbook pages in both 8.5×11 and 12×12 formats. It is organized into 4 chapters based on the number of photos you would like to include on your spread. I personally am a BIG fan of sketches. They just make your life so much easier at times!
Here is my first spread that was included in this book. It is in chapter two, sketches for 5-6 photos.
This is Nik at my parents’ house playing with the neighbor cat. Uncle Paul calls her Pretty Alice, because in his opinion, all cats are “pretty”. I believe the neighbors just call her Alice. These photos are already almost 2 years old. Wow, does time ever go quickly.
Patterned paper is from Paper Salon, and the chipboard heart is Heidi Grace. Chipboard alphabet by Scenic Route, and rub-on letters by Imagination Project. This spread also has some transparencies by Hambly and buttons by Autumn Leaves.
Looks like I’m going to have to re-scan the second spread before it can be posted. Think it must be a casualty of one of my many computer crashes. So, I will save that one for another time.
Have a great night!

Wooo hooo! I know that you girls waited a LONG LONG time to see this book in print! congrats
